The answer is to create multiple libraries for each iPod. The iTunes version 7 software allows you to do just that, but this procedure should not be divulged.
First, close the iTunes software and hold down the shift key then double-click on an iTunes icon to reopen it. You will see a new dialog box instead of the usual program running. Select “create library” so you can begin making multiple libraries.
